Athrospira platensis
Spirulina is a bioactive blue-green microalga from the Cyanophyceae family, initially isolated in China and Eastern Africa. It thrives in environments with high salt, bicarbonates, and carbonates concentrations. Spirulina’s primary constituents are proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids. Additionally, this alga is an abundant source of numerous valuable compounds, including minerals and vitamins.
The predominant minerals found in spirulina are potassium, calcium, magnesium, selenium, iron, and zinc. Among the vitamins, B vitamins, particularly B12, are most prevalent.
Spirulina exhibits potent antioxidant, revitalising, remineralising, moisturising, and anti-inflammatory properties, effectively combating the signs of ageing.
This active ingredient is obtained from manioc sugars with tensor power that acts on the skin’s surface and smooths the micro-relief (in vivo test).
